Holiday Tips

Enjoy the Ultimate Holiday Gift
Jesus Christ, Our Gift from God aka "Love"

  • The holiday season can sometimes be dreadful and stressful for many.  There are many plans being made during this time.  With decisions around: what to cook, where to go, whose coming over and so forth.  People tend to push the panic button and get stressed out about the relatives and/or friends; concerned about what they did or did not do.
  • Did you know Jesus addressed this very issue during His ministry.  Martha was busy about in the kitchen preparing a meal, but got angry because Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus.  Mary was getting fed the word of God, but Mary was anxious and getting out of love, thinking evil thoughts about why no one is helping her.  Out of the heart the mouth speaks.  Martha approached Jesus, requesting that her sister come to help her, thinking that Jesus would side up with her and make her sister look bad.  On the contrary, Jesus stood for righteousness, and informed Martha that Mary has chosen what was right.
  • Martha apparently was stressed out.  She was anxious and upset. Martha allowed fear versus love to overtake her.  You see if Martha was wise she would not have gotten caught up in the cares of the moment.  No, she too would have been at the feet of Jesus eating the incorruptible words coming from the Word of God.
  • Have you been operating in a Martha mode? Are you in a frenzy because its Christmas time and you feel as thought you have to do so many things?  What is the motive behind what you do? Is it love or tradition? Do you get upset at Christmas time when you don't get what you expected.  What is your motive behind celebrating Christmas? This is an awesome time to gather with family and friends and to share in word or deed the awesomeness of our Father, God.
  • The Lord will keep you in His perfect peace as you keep your heart and mind stayed on Him and trust in Him in every situation versus what you did or did not get. Don't operate according to the elements of this world, the lower nature, stay in your higher nature in Christ and walk a life of Love.
No matter the situation we find ourselves in, we are to count it all joy, because the joy of the Lord is your strength.  Don't give your strength to the enemy by worrying or being anxious. Stay happy and joyous.  Go Caroling with neighbors, friends, colleagues.  Make someone else feel the joy of the Lord.  It's not always about you.

God wants us to enjoy people and seasons not dread them.  Don't take on others issues and attitudes, that's their problem. Don't let anyone move you off your joyful, victory chariot.  You be kind and pray for others instead of being critical and judgemental; always pointing out the wrong in something.

Demonstrate God's Love to this dying world system.
